Last night Purdue defeated #1 Arizona 92-84 in Indianapolis and Kansas went on the road to Bloomington and came back to beat Indiana 75-71. Both Purdue and Kansas have impressive resumes, but which team deserves to be number one?

Both teams have tested themselves early and often. Check out these resumes below and let me know who you think deserves to be the Number One overall team in college basketball.

Kansas Resume –

Key Wins (Rankings are provided by Kenpom as of Dec 17th)

#21 Kentucky – Neutral site, 89-84

#7 Tennessee – Maui, 69-60

#3 UConn – Home, 69-65

Purdue Resume –

#19 Gonzaga – Maui, 73-63

#7 Tennessee – Maui, 71-67

#6 Marquette – Maui, 78-75

#9 Alabama – Canada, 92-86

#4 Arizona – Neutral/home game, 92-84

I’m aware this is a Purdue basketball site, but in all honestly to anyone who thinks Kansas has a better resume than Purdue would be crazy. The one difference between the two is obviously their lone losses. Kansas has just one loss who came to Marquette in the Maui invitational. Purdue lost on the road at Northwestern in overtime. In all honesty the difference between being #1 and being #2 is not the biggest issue in the world for either team or program, but I believe Purdue brings a lot more to the table than Kansas does when comparing resumes.
