On Monday, Matt Painter visited South Bend Washington High School to see Indiana’s #1 player in the class of 2026, Steven Reynolds lll. Reynolds is a 6’5 guard who averaged 20.5 ppg, and 8.5 rpg his sophomore year at SB Washington.

Reynolds currently holds offers from, IUPUI, Toledo, Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Penn State, Mississippi State, and Purdue.

ON3 basketball recruiting has Reynolds ranked 64th in the county, and the 9th best point guard in the class.

Purdue has one commitment already in the 2026 class with in-state point guard Luke Ertel. Ertel is ranked 183rd in the country, and the #2 player in Indiana.

Reynolds sister Amiyah Reynolds is currently a redshirt freshman at Purdue on the women’s basketball team. She was a 4-star out of high school, ranked in the top 40 in the country by multiple sites.

Reynolds currently would rank as the 3rd highest recruit for Purdue basketball on 247sports behind Caleb Swannigan and Tre Kaufman-Renn.
